Cesc Abad Catalan, 1973

Cesc Abad explores the relationship between humans and nature and how actions and behaviours towards nature change and impact our environment. In earlier series, Abad depicts scenes of forests, animals and human stories of passion, war, faith, envy and love, establishing connections between the human and animal species.  In recent work, Abad focuses on the human as protagonist within subtle and ironic backdrops. The physical attributes of figurative characters represent the evolution from his earlier work, where human forms merge with tree trunks and branches, and eyes are brightly coloured birds.  Light and shadow emphasize the cycles, rhythm and delicate harmony of nature.

Abad exhibits internationally with representation across Europe and Asia.
