PIERMARQ* is pleased to present 'Hot Chips', an exhibition of painting by Australian artist Craig Handley. This is Handley's third exhibition with the gallery since 2018.
Inspired by the nostalgia of suburban life in Australia in the 1980's, Handley's work blurs the distinctions between realism, surrealism, narrative and speculative fiction. Working sparingly in oil and employing deliberate and considered compositions, Handley creates visual snapshots of intimate and fleeting moments.
In the last decade, Handley has exhibited across Australia and has been shortlisted as a finalist in notable art prizes over 80 times including The Sulman Prize, The Wynne Prize and was the winner of Kogarah Art Prize (2015) and the KAAF Art Prize (2017).
